GIRLS HOCKEY

Adirondack United 4, Hanover 1

Key players: Adirondack United — Bailey Duffy, Lillian Willis 2 goals each Hanover — Eleanor Edson, Nora Bradley

Highlights: 36 saves by Eleanor Edson, some were spectacular. Nora Bradley scored on a breakaway to make it 2-1 in the third and her next shift almost did it again.

Coach’s quote: “Really proud of our effort and how we competed until the final shift. We were a post away from a 2-2 game with 7 minutes left. This was the fastest and most skilled team we have seen. You can see why they are ranked no. 1 in New York State.” — Hanover’s John Dodds

Highlights: Lebanon clawed back to give themselves a chance at the end, but couldn’t complete the comeback. Kennett played tough in a defensive matchup that held both teams below 40 points.

Highlights: The Wasps played good team defense and controlled the boards, 32-19, to slowly pull away as they outscored Mill River each quarter. Gavyn Sammel had 12 of those rebounds to go along with 8 points.
