LEBANON — Longtime Lebanon City Council member Karen Liot Hill is running for the state Executive Council seat currently held by Cinde Warmington, who is seeking the Democratic Party’s 2024 nomination for governor.

Liot Hill, 45, has served on the council since 2005, and was mayor from 2008 to 2009. She currently holds an at-large seat on the council.

She also has served as Grafton County treasurer since 2016.

“I understand how the decisions in Concord affect us on the local level,” she said in a phone interview Friday.

Liot Hill, a Dartmouth College graduate, has been a registered Democrat since 2004 and plans to run as a Democrat.

The announcement comes early in the election cycle; the deadline to submit paperwork to the Secretary of State’s office is next June.

Warmington, of Concord, is the lone Democrat on the five-member council, which oversees state contracts and the governor’s appointments.

District 2 stretches from the Massachusetts border to the northern end of Grafton County and includes parts of Cheshire and Merrimack counties, in addition to most of Sullivan County.
