Saturday, December 09, 2017

Lebanon — Interstate 89 southbound has been reopened, according to the Hanover Regional Communications Center Facebook page.

The interstate was closed at Exit 17 in Lebanon shortly after 4 p.m. following multiple motor vehicle crashes during the area’s first significant snowfall of the season.

At about 7 p.m., the dispatch center posted a warning: “Please stay off the roadways. We literally have at least 100 vehicles either involved in accidents or off the roadway.”

AccuWeather said a snowstorm that hit coastal areas of the mid-Atlantic Saturday is expected to extend northward into New England on Sunday.
