Hobby Lobby Signs Lease for Former Kmart Store in Claremont

Claremont — Hobby Lobby, a privately held national chain selling arts and craft supplies and fabrics, has signed a 10-year lease on the Washington Street space last occupied by Kmart, according to documents on file at the Sullivan County Registry of Deeds.

The lease agreement on 52,000-square-foot space in Claremont was signed last month. Kmart closed its Claremont store several years ago. A state liquor store is one of the other tenants in the Washington Street plaza owned by DSM Realty of Tewksbury, Mass, which also owns the adjacent Market Basket Plaza.

Hobby Lobby is based in Oklahoma City. In the Twin States, it has stores in Manchester and Nashua, N.H., and one in Rutland, Vt.
