HARTFORD — Havah Armstrong Walther has been named the new executive director of the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce.

She replaces PJ Skehan, who retired Dec. 1 after leading the nonprofit organization for more than a decade.

Armstrong Walther, of West Hartford, has previously worked as a nonprofit consultant. Over the years, she has worked with Hartford chamber members on various projects including “capital campaigns, strategic planning, board development, and executive mentorship,” Armstrong Walther wrote in an email. Her most recent role was as interim executive director of Spark Community Center in Lebanon.

“Her dynamic leadership style, combined with her dedication to community and business development, makes her the ideal candidate to guide the Chamber through its next phase of growth,” Mary Davidson Graham, who chairs the nonprofit organization’s board, said in a news release.
