Cornish, N.H. —
He was born in Cabot, Vt. on June 2, 1935 the son of Harold George Morse and Irene M. (Conner) Carroll.
Harold served in the 3rd Infantry of the US Army during the Korean War, and once guarded the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.
He worked as a road agent for the Town of Cornish for many years.
He was a member of the N.H. Antique Tractor Club and served on the Cornish Conservation Committee.
Harold enjoyed tractors, going to the horse tractor pulls at the fair, fly fishing, his two trips to Alaska fishing and taking walks in his woods. He had a sawmill and kept very busy by building his own house, a sugar house and helping others in the community and surrounding area with their projects that needed the use of his saw mill.
The family includes his children, Sherrie Bulkeley and her partner, Ed Pierce of Cornish; Harold “Skip” Morse Jr. and his fiancé, Shawny of Claremont; Marilyn Morse and her partner, Eric Crate of Enfield Center; James Morse of Windsor, Vt. and Carolyn Holling and her husband, Michael of Windsor, Vt.; the mother of his children, Marilyn Kniffin; grandchildren, Jessica Monteith, Sarah Bulkeley, Benjamin Bulkeley, Justin Jette, Emily Bulkeley, Joshua Morse, Natasha Morse, Meagan Holling and Angela Roth; two great grandchildren, Jackie Couey and Natalie Morse; a sister, Janice Owen, Hudson Mass.; two brothers, John Morse, Staunton, Va. and Clyde LaClair, Atkinson, N.H. and many cousins that he was very fond of, and his beloved dog, Roger.
He was pre-deceased by his twin brother, Raynold; brother, Arthur LaClair and his very good friend, Milt Jewell.
Visiting hours will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont NH on Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 5 p.m.to 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 11a.m. with Pastor Scott Kearns officiating. Interment will follow in Edminster Cemetery in Cornish with military honors.
