Anne Biddle Atlee Crewe

Norwich, Vt. — Anne Biddle Atlee Crewe, 87, died March 6th at Springfield Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield, Vt.

She was born May 22, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pa. the daughter of Charles Biddle and Annabelle Atlee. She graduated in 1947 from George School in Bucks County, Pa. In 1951 she got her BFA in Art Education at the Philadelphia Museum School (Now the University of the Arts). Later she taught Art at the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pa.

She was married to Hayward B. Crewe in the Church of the Good Shepherd in Rosemont, Pa. They moved to Brandon, Vt. and subsequently to Norwich.

Anne started the Art program at Hartford High School where she taught from 1964-1981. She also taught Jewelry at the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen for many years.

She returned to school at Dartmouth College where she earned her MALS Degree in 1974.

In 1980 Anne moved to Gray Barns in Norwich where she lived with and ultimately cared for her cousin Eleanor Cadbury.

Anne is survived by her daughter Anna Biddle Crewe of White River Jct. Vt. and her daughter and son-in-law Veda Lynn Crewe and Robert Wellington of Swanzey, N.H.

A memorial Meeting for Worship will be held at Hanover Friends Meeting, Hanover, N.H. on Saturday, May 26 at 2 p.m. followed by a tea.
