Amelia (Waddell) Anderson

Springfield, N.H. — Amelia (Waddell) Anderson, 73, of Greeley Road, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at the White River Junction VA Hospital.

She was born in Lebanon, N.H. on Jan. 8, 1944, the daughter of C. Allen and Myrtle L. (Severance) Waddell.

Amy graduated from New London High School and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. Active in town, she had been town librarian for many years and also worked at the town office. For years she worked at the New London Trust Company and also worked at Quality Mailing in Claremont .

She served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post #40 serving as Historian and Financial Officer as well as being a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit #40. A lover of animals, Amy was particularly fond of her dogs and birds.

Her husband, Frank E. Anderson, died on May 1, 2017. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Heather and Rick Shaffer of Springfield; siblings, Matthew R. and his wife, Joanne Waddell, Richard H. and his wife, Betty Waddell, William W. Waddell, Sue and her husband, William Anderson all of Springfield and Scott C. Waddell of Newbury, N.H.; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, N.H. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Pleasant View Cemetery, Springfield with Mr. Fred Davis, officiating and military honors by the U.S. Navy and American Legion Post #40.
