Jane, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society

“Hi! My name’s Jane and I’m a 4-year-old spayed female mixed breed dog. I came to Lucy Mackenzie when my owners were moving and couldn’t take me with them. I was sad at first, because I had no idea what was happening, or where I was. Then, I started making new friends, and things got so much better.

“Although it might take me a minute or two to become comfortable around new people, I’m known for being a loyal and very good friend! Lots has happened since I’ve been here, like I’ve been spayed and have learned many new things, like how to walk on a leash, what ‘sit’ and ‘wait’ mean, and so much more.

“While I’m a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of dog, I don’t do all that well with being left alone for long spans of time. I wouldn’t mind having a canine friend in my new home, as long as we got along, of course! I enjoy being outdoors as much as I love being snuggled up inside on my favorite dog bed.

“If you’ve been looking for a new canine best friend, stop in and meet me today!”

Mouth is up for adoption from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, located at 4832 Route 44 in West Windsor and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. Lucy Mackenzie is also on Facebook and Twitter and can be reached at 802-484-5829.

Baker, adoptable from Sullivan County Humane Society

“I am 3-year-old Baker and I am quite the character! I am super playful and silly and incredibly curious.

“If you are looking for a lovable companion who will keep you entertained for hours, I am your guy! I am vet checked, neutered, treated for fleas and worms, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, tested for FIV/FeLV/ringworm, and microchipped.”

Baker is up for adoption from Sullivan County Humane Society, located at 145 Broad St. in Claremont. Please see hours on the humane society website at www.sullivancountyhumanesociety.org and Facebook. Call 603-542-3277 or email sullivanhumane@hotmail.com.

Opie, adoptable from Upper Valley Humane Society

“Hi there! My name is Opie and I am a 7-year-old pit bull/bulldog mix with quite the personality! Toys are the best, and my favorite game is ‘catch’ with tennis balls. I also enjoy a good back scratch here and there.

“I will need to go to a home with someone who can help me work on my manners a bit. I don’t really like other dogs, so I need to be the only dog in my new home. Kids are OK as long as they are able to respect my boundaries.

“If you are looking for a new playmate, come and meet me today!”

Opie is up for adoption from the Upper Valley Humane Society, located at 300 Old Route 10 in Enfield and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The Upper Valley Humane Society is also on Facebook and Instagram and can be reached at 603-448-6888.
